John Shaw died from wounds on 8th October, 1916 after having been sent back to a base hospital in Rouen but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 3rd London battalion were part of 167 Brigade, 56th Division that had recently been involved in the fighting associated with the Battle of the Somme in the summer and autumn of 1916. |
